The Land Rover DC-100 Concept

For over 60 years, Land Rover has been building vehicles renowned for their capability and versatility. And none more so than the iconic Defender.
With this in mind, Land Rover’s Design Director Gerry McGovern has led the Land Rover design team to explore a re-interpretation of the Defender. The aim is to capture the adventurous, indomitable spirit established by the Series 1 in 1948.
Land Rover was proud to debut the potential Defender of the future at the Frankfurt Motor Show, the Land Rover DC100 Concept vehicle.
World-leading all-terrain technologies, hi-tech materials and cutting edge design come together to complement and enhance the original Defender’s core functionality, capability and usability. It is a monumental development with sustainability at its core, and one that launches the Defender into the 21st century with a new world of possibilities.
However far this unique vehicle has come, its shape and stance would be instantly recognisable anywhere in the world - capturing the inherent simplicity and reassurance of the original short-wheelbase Land Rover. Created for the next generation, Land Rover’s DC100 design undeniably demonstrates that it has the capability to take you places no other vehicle can.
